It's art looks stunning and characters look like I imagined them. I would like to read graphic novel of this book. I know that Joe Abercrombie got inspired from it, yet he managed to make his story unique in a way and I enjoyed pretty much every POV, while Martin has so many POVs that I ended up liking only 5 of them. Martin's books of A Song of Ice of Fire series. I would recommend it for anyone who would like to try out grimdark fantasy or enjoy George R. Never thought that I will enjoy character-driven story that much, it was a wonderful reading experience. It was breathtaking, despite it being heavily character-focused. I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars :star: :star: :star: :star: :star. Readers who are new to adult fantasy might enjoy this style of writing. Joe Abercrombie's writing was also not that hard to comprehend, it wasn't very flowery and it wasn't very dry. A debut novel that’s drawn comparison to Dennis Lehane, Laura Lippman, and Quentin Tarantino, The Blade Itself is the story of a good man held hostage by circumstance a riveting exploration of class, identity, and the demons that shape us, where every effort to do the right thing leads to terrifying consequences and one inevitable conclusion. There is a room for a lot of character development and I hope that Abercrombie will do them justice. I would say that they were morally gray and complex. Characters felt realistic, more human than other characters I have seen in fiction. Joe Abercrombie managed to make me invested and made me care so much about these characters, especially Glokta and Jezal. Like I mentioned before, the book is very character focused.
